For ALL Concordia University Employees All seminars take place from 12 pm to 1:15 pm Setting and Achieving your Goals, March 6, 2012 - SGW, H 762 The majority of people know that setting goals can have a positive impact on achieving their desires in life, but relatively few actually do so. Whether they feel they do not have the time, the skills or the resources, many are hesitant to develop objectives and commit to their achievement. This seminar addresses the common challenges that people face as they begin to focus on their future. It discusses proven strategies to design goals, evaluate their completeness and implement a plan to achieve them. Creating a Great Family Life, April 3, 2012 - Loyola, AD 307 Decades ago, the traditional description of family seemed to fit into a neat box. Today’s definition is significantly broader. This seminar will explore today’s family life, which can often seem complicated and challenged by such circumstances as divorce, lack of time, poor communication and competition from electronic gadgets. Participants will have the opportunity to see that despite these many issues, it is still possible to learn new techniques, improve one’s communication skills and successfully build a great family life. Moving towards retirement is full of both daunting changes and new possibilities, and it is never too early to consider the future. Individuals should ask themselves, “What do I want to do with my time and energy when I am no longer working full time?” This seminar will appeal to people of all ages as it reviews the five emotional stages of retirement. It will explain how participants can explore available resources, set important retirement goals, understand the roles of time, health and wellness and envision the next stage in their lives. *Please note that this is not a financial planning seminar.
